Artist's Note
“Germany's street art festival scene is incredible — organized, well-supported, and deeply respectful of the artists. Painting in Hainburg with the community watching, asking questions in broken English-German exchanges, and sharing meals with other international artists was one of the best experiences of my career.”

Inspiration
Dachshunds are Germany's iconic dog breed, and including one felt like a nod to local culture while painting in my own style. The goldfish and lanterns add layers of playfulness that cross cultural boundaries — everyone smiles at a dog and a goldfish.
The Process
The bold purple background was a commitment — it dominates the color story and everything else had to work with or against it. The woman's portrait was painted in complementary warm tones to create visual tension with the purple. The dachshund's proportions were carefully observed from the many real dachshunds walking past during painting.
Community Impact
The piece has been preserved by the building owner and featured in local tourism materials. German and American art communities both shared it widely, creating a cross-cultural connection that perfectly represents what international street art festivals are about.
