TRANSFORMING SPACES INTO STORIES
Rachel Dinda is a Colorado-based artist and community arts facilitator whose vivid, large-scale works animate public spaces through dynamic portraiture and biophilic imagery. Working primarily with spray paint, she creates art that opens dialogue and draws viewers into a deeper reflection on how we relate to each other and the living world around us.
Rachel's training as a registered nurse and nursing instructor has given her a deep understanding of how to nurture community health. She translates this care into her art, using trauma-informed design and thoughtful visual language to create public spaces that invite healing, connection, and a sense of safety.
Through public art, she has discovered a profound sense of purpose, partnering with nonprofits, schools, and local businesses to craft visual experiences that inspire, uplift, and bring communities closer together.
Drawing from diverse cultural experiences, her murals celebrate resilience and the human–nature bond, encouraging viewers to sense the interconnectedness that shapes how we share space and energy.
Artist Statement
FROM PASSION TO PROFESSION
My work centers on storytelling as a tool for healing, empowerment, and connection. Through large-scale murals, I create emotionally resonant spaces that invite reflection, restore belonging, and inspire both personal and collective transformation.
Rooted in nature, symbolism, and portraiture, my imagery explores human emotion, resilience, and our intrinsic relationship with the natural world. In my work, animals often serve as mirrors for human experience — embodying strength, vulnerability, intuition, and grace — allowing viewers to connect across cultures, ages, and through lived experience. Vibrant color and layered composition draw people in, while deeper narratives encourage pause, introspection, and empathy.
At the heart of my practice is service. I collaborate closely with nonprofits, youth programs, and community organizations to create murals that empower underserved populations, support emotional healing, and foster safe, affirming environments. My background as a nurse and youth mentor informs a trauma-aware and compassionate approach, shaping work that prioritizes emotional safety, representation, and hope.
Alongside social impact, I am committed to ecological and ocean conservation. I partner with environmental organizations to transform public spaces into visual calls for stewardship, honoring the interconnectedness between human wellness and planetary health.
Through my work, I seek to create spaces that heal people and honor the planet — where art becomes a bridge between story and purpose.
Mission
