SPREAD LOVE - IT'S THE COLORADO WAY
A bold typographic mural declaring 'Spread Love — It's the Colorado Way,' set against mountain imagery and bright, optimistic colors. The piece functions as both public art and community mantra, turning a wall into a daily invitation to choose kindness.

Artist's Note
“Typography murals carry a different kind of power — the message hits before the aesthetics. I chose these words because Colorado genuinely does embody a spirit of friendliness and outdoor generosity. Putting it on a wall makes the implicit explicit.”
— Rachel Dinda
Inspiration
Colorado's community spirit — the way strangers wave on trails, help each other in snowstorms, and share their favorite hidden spots. That ethos deserves to be broadcast at building scale.
The Process
Typographic murals require precision in letterform that's different from figural painting. Every curve, weight, and spacing decision affects readability from a distance. I hand-lettered the text rather than projecting a font, so it has organic irregularities that give it warmth. The mountain elements were painted more loosely to contrast with the structured type.
Community Impact
People photograph this mural as a statement about who they are and what they believe. It shows up in real estate listings, tourism brochures, and 'moving to Colorado' social media posts. The message has become bigger than the art itself.
