DRAGON ON A ROOFTOP
A striking teal and crimson dragon coiling across a London rooftop, painted high above the city with the UK skyline stretching behind it. The mythical creature seems to guard the building, its scales catching the light differently depending on the time of day and the direction of the English sun.

Artist's Note
“Painting on a London rooftop, with the city stretching out in every direction — that's the kind of experience that changes your perspective as an artist. The dragon felt like it belonged there, watching over everything. Working at that height with unpredictable British weather was an adventure in itself.”
— Rachel Dinda
Inspiration
Dragons appear in nearly every culture's mythology, and Britain has a particularly rich dragon tradition. I wanted to connect that ancient mythology to the modern skyline, suggesting that magic might still be hiding in the city's forgotten spaces.
The Process
Rooftop painting has unique logistical challenges — everything has to be carried up, the wind is constant, and weather windows are unpredictable. I worked in concentrated bursts when conditions allowed, using fast-drying acrylics that could handle the moisture. The teal and red palette was chosen to stand out against London's typically grey sky.
Community Impact
The dragon is visible from several surrounding buildings, and I hear it's become a talking point for people working in nearby offices. It's also caught drone photographers' attention — aerial shots of the piece have circulated widely online.
