“Community centers serve people who need to hear this message most. When a kid walks into a building and the first thing they see is 'THE WORLD IS YOURS' at mural scale, it plants something. Maybe not that day, but eventually.”

Inspiration
The young people who use this community center — their dreams, their hustle, and the barriers they face. This mural is meant to be a counterweight to every message telling them they can't or they won't.
The Process
The graffiti style was intentional — it speaks the visual language of the community. I combined spray paint lettering with hand-painted portraits, bridging street art and fine art in a way that respects both traditions. The color palette is bold and unapologetic, designed to be seen and felt from across the room.
Community Impact
Youth program leaders say students quote the mural back to them. It's become a mantra for the community center, showing up on their t-shirts, social media, and program materials. That kind of adoption means the message landed.
