ALL STARS

A cosmic space-themed mural spanning multiple buildings at All Stars Ink, featuring DNA helixes spiraling through nebula clouds, exploding stars, and swirling galaxy formations. The piece transforms the tattoo studio's exterior into an interstellar journey where biology meets the cosmos.

Artist's Note

Tattooing and the cosmos both deal with permanence — ink under skin, light traveling millions of years. I wanted to draw that parallel, connecting DNA's microscopic spirals to the grand rotation of galaxies. The studio's energy made it an ideal canvas for something this ambitious.

Inspiration

The tattoo artists at All Stars work with precision and permanence every day. I wanted the exterior to reflect that same devotion to craft, but at a scale that makes you feel small — the way a clear night sky does.

The Process

This was a multi-building project that required careful color coordination across different wall textures. I used aerosol for the gradient nebula backgrounds, then hand-painted the DNA structures and star clusters with acrylics. Colorado's dry climate was a blessing — the paint dried fast, letting me layer quickly over three weeks.

Community Impact

The mural has put All Stars Ink on the map for people who aren't even looking for tattoos. It's become one of those spots people drive to just to photograph. The studio owner told me walk-in traffic doubled the first month.
