Artist's Note
“Creating work for an artist collective felt like painting for family. Every color choice and compositional decision was informed by the creative energy of the people who work inside this building. I wanted the exterior to radiate the same boldness and originality that happens within.”
— Rachel Dinda
Inspiration
The diverse community of artists in Colorado Springs — painters, sculptors, musicians, writers — all converging in this one space. The portrait represents the collective creative spirit rather than any single individual.
The Process
The building's facade presented a large, visible surface that demanded confident, graphic work. I used a limited but vibrant palette to create maximum visual impact from the street. The profile format gives the piece a sense of forward motion — looking toward whatever comes next.
Community Impact
The mural has helped put the collective on the map for visitors to Colorado Springs. Artists from other cities have told me they visited specifically because they saw the mural online and wanted to connect with the community behind it.
