PROTECT YOUR PEACE
An ocean-themed mural at the Olde Town Arvada Mural Festival featuring a woman with flowing wave hair, surrounded by marine life and underwater elements. The piece bridges ocean conservation with mental health awareness, suggesting that protecting the ocean and protecting our inner peace are parallel acts of care.

Artist's Note
“This piece holds special significance for me. The ocean has always been my personal sanctuary — my place of peace. Connecting ocean conservation to mental health awareness felt natural because both are about protecting something precious that we often take for granted.”
— Rachel Dinda
Inspiration
The mental health conversations growing in our communities, combined with the urgency of ocean conservation. Both movements ask us to pay attention, to care, and to take action before it's too late.
The Process
Festival painting is a sprint. I had three days to complete this piece publicly, with an audience watching every decision. The organic, flowing composition was sketched directly on the wall with no digital pre-planning — just charcoal and instinct. The marine elements were painted from memory of my own snorkeling and diving experiences.
Community Impact
This is one of the pieces people message me about most frequently. Something about combining ocean imagery with the invitation to 'protect your peace' resonates deeply. It's been shared thousands of times with mental health awareness messages attached.
