Artist's Note
“Ocean conservation is personal for me. Every coral reef mural I paint is a love letter to ecosystems that are disappearing. Placing one inside a brewery — a social gathering space — gives conservation messaging an audience that might not seek it out in traditional settings.”

Inspiration
My own experiences snorkeling and diving in threatened reef ecosystems. The colors and life I've witnessed underwater deserve to be seen by people who may never put on a mask and fins. If I can make landlocked Coloradans fall in love with the ocean, maybe they'll care about saving it.
The Process
The brewery's interior dimensions and lighting dictated the palette — underwater blues needed to feel immersive without making the space feel dark. I balanced cool ocean tones with warm coral accents and bioluminescent highlights that glow under the brewery's ambient lighting. The jellyfish were painted translucently, using the wall's white primer to create the see-through effect.
Community Impact
Ursula Brewery has leaned into the ocean theme across their branding. Patrons regularly ask about the marine life depicted, which opens conservation conversations naturally. The brewery now donates a portion of a signature beer's sales to ocean conservation nonprofits.
