SCHOOL MULTI-WALL: WOMEN & FLOWERS
An expansive indoor mural project spanning multiple school walls, featuring diverse portraits of women and children surrounded by lotus flowers, dahlias, and daisies. The piece creates an immersive environment celebrating diversity, growth, and the nurturing power of education, with each wall offering a new perspective on these themes.

Artist's Note
“Multi-wall school projects let me create entire environments rather than single images. Students spend years in these hallways, and the art becomes part of their formative experience. I wanted every face and flower to feel like an invitation — you belong here, you matter, you can grow.”
— Rachel Dinda
Inspiration
The school's commitment to inclusive education inspired the diversity of the portraits. Each flower was chosen for its symbolism: lotuses for resilience, dahlias for inner strength, and daisies for innocence and new beginnings.
The Process
Indoor school murals need to be durable, non-toxic, and appropriate for all ages while still being artistically compelling. I used low-VOC paints exclusively and designed compositions that work for both five-year-olds and fifteen-year-olds. Each wall was planned to be visible from multiple hallway approaches, so there's no bad angle.
Community Impact
Teachers incorporate the murals into discussions about diversity and self-expression. Students identify with specific portraits and treat them with ownership — they protect the walls and add the murals to their own stories about what school means to them.
